Integrative Medicine Program
Amigo Family Counseling is soon to offer an Integrative Medicine Program clients can apply holistic, mind-body health practices to improve their mental and physical health and overall well-being. The program focuses on the use of mindfulness and yoga, the reduction of stress and emotional conflict, the improvement of joy and self-love, and the focus on productivity at work and home. This program is coordinated with AFC’s current and ongoing efforts to help clients acquire and maintain life skills that will assist them in future independent living, schooling, and career endeavors. The focus of the Integrative Medicine Program at AFC is to develop and attain tangible sustainable measurable change. When implemented, the program will offer a walking club, mindfulness and stress-reduction classes, sessions dedicated to discussing life goals and self-empowerment, guidance on meal planning and healthy eating practices, and interactive activities to develop daily life skills that will promote overall well-being and self-attainment of a fulfilled and balanced life.
KATHRYN VECCHIO RUSSELL, M.S., D.Min., is a certified Integrative Health Coach from Duke University. In a structured, supportive partnership, Kathryn provides ongoing guidance with her clients as they set their own goals and make sustainable changes to improve their health and happiness. Kathryn employs a "whole person" approach to assist her clients to reach goals in all areas of life. She encourages clients to explore all attributes of health, including physical, mental and spiritual elements, in order to obtain total health balance.
